 "Don't Recommend..." 2009-03-19
By Phillip Rittermeyer (CoSgs, CO United States)
We bought this ionizer for our home. It worked great the first few days, then started flickering on and off. It has not worked properly since.

 "It helps" 2008-11-23
By laura (mn)
It helped with the amount of dust in my room. I could breath better thru my nose at night after I started using it.

 "Useless Trash" 2008-06-25
By Matthew L. Keith (Dale City, VA USA)
I would not recommend buying this piece of junk to anyone.

I received one as a give about 2 years back and it worked for all of maybe a month. It has a little 2 inch fan (almost looks like a computer fan!) that pulls air in through the back vents past the tiny little collection grid that never had anything stuck to it. The fan failed after about a month and turned the unit into a useless piece of trash.

Do not buy.

"Way Overpriced - Does Nothing" 2008-05-18
By Sheba Bray
My parents got me one of these units for Christmas, since I have asthma and allergies and so had asked for an air purifier. My first impression was it looks small and cheap; therefore, I am quite surprised researching now to discover it to be the price that it is. I kept checking the unit periodically to see whether it needed cleaned, like if it's working, then stuff is supposed to collect that is supposed to be periodically cleaned - nothing was ever needing cleaned, and now I have one of the worst cases of bronchitis that I've had in several years. I'm junking it, and today bought a higher quality, much better, double filtration unit at Menard's, on sale for $29. I can now tell a noticeable difference. I would not recommend the Bell Howell air purifier to anyone. It's way overpriced and plainly stated, it does nothing to purify the air.

 "Save your money" 2007-08-07
By Todd Entenman (Toledo, OH)
If you're going to buy a filterless air purifier, I'd save your money and buy something better than this. The construction is cheap flimsy lightweight plastic--did I mention cheap? The unit is very small--too small for any room bigger than 4'X4'. Supposedly the collection grid is supposed to collect dust and allergens, but I never had to clean mine after hours of use.

 "ASTHMA GONE" 2007-07-15
By Astrid Tollefsen (west barnstable, MA)
AFTER JUST THREE DAYS OF THIS MACHINE, I HAVE NO NOSE CONGESTION, NO COUGHING AND NO EVIDENCE OF ASTHMA...I AM NOT GETTING OUT OF BREATH OR WHEEZING. I FEEL TWENTY YEARS YOUNGER AND FREED OF THAT HANDICAP. SO I AM BUYING A SECOND ONE FOR ANOTHER PART OF THE HOUSE. THANK YOU!

 "Junk" 2007-05-29
By Todd Entenman (Toledo, OH)
I cannot recommend this product to anyone considering buying it. It's tiny and cheaply made of lightweight plastic. I don't think this thing could freshen a room the size of a cereal box. The collection grid never accumulates any dirt or debris. I don't think it's even working.

 "Good for a bedroom" 2007-05-27
By Matthew Maples (Oxford, MS USA)
I ordered this unit, not expecting to much considering its size and price, and the name, but i was, to say the least, pretty impressed. On silent it does not move air, period, and there is a "hisssss" that can be annoying. On "turbo" i.e. a fan moving the air, there isn't a hiss and it is fairly quiet, i couldn't hear it over my ceiling fan. After about a day i opened it up and looked at the collection filter, and as i suspected i didn't see anything, but i took a damp clean white paper towel and wiped it off, and lo and behold there was actually stuff that came off. I was suprised, and thought it might have just been dust and stuff that were there already, so i put the filter back in and a couple days later i cleaned it again, and there was more. The only reason i give this a 4 is because on mine the switch broke and i could not turn it off.
