"Ionic Air Purifiers" Clean, toxin-free air is within your reach with this affordable and incredibly efficient ionic desktop air purifier.

Having clean air to breathe is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, and since most of us spend the majority of our time indoors, clean air in your indoor living space is of utmost importance.

The Vortex Ionic Desktop Room Air Purifier uses electronic ionization to help control airborne pollutants even in rooms with poor circulation. The result is fresher smelling, cleaner air within moments of plugging it in. Plus, the ionization will help to restore the electrical balance of the air for a more natural environment.

The Vortex is one of the most efficient desktop purifiers available. It uses a unique spiral emitter to discharge over 70 trillion ions per second in a rapid, pulsing, spiral motion that actually stimulates airflow and draws pollutants to the device.

Air Ionic Purifier LightningAir Air Sanitizer is an ionic purifier with a built-in O3 Sanitizer. This air sanitizer will reduce sources of discomfort which contribute to allergies, hay fever and other types of airborne irritation. Air purifier generates both negative ions and activated oxygen for your home or office. Modern buildings are constructed so tightly that odors and pollutants are trapped inside. Natures own cleansing process, which uses both negative ions and O3, are left outside. According to the EPA, many pollutants in the typical home or office are at least 10 times higher than in outdoor air. The average American spends 90% of their time indoors. Mold, mildew, viruses, dust and pollen can fill the air in our living spaces. These cause odors, irritation and allergic response. Fumes from tobacco, pets, carpets, pressed board and fabrics are also breathed in daily by you and your family. Odors are constantly created in the spaces where we live. 2 in 1 purifier generates both negative ions and O3 for your home or office. The LightningAir air ionic purifier creates the same process as nature, reducing odors and purifying the air indoors. LightningAir air sanitizer units are totally portable. Just plug in the air cleaner and start to enjoy clean, mountain-fresh air for only pennies a day!

"Good as a nightlight. Does not work." 2008-08-04
By Miguel A. Gonzalez Juarez (NYC)
Let's just say that the flies in my house were not at all intimidated by this gadget. Nothing has changed, the flies just fly right in front of it and dont seem bothered by the ultrasonic waves. A fly swatter works better... Dont waste your money on this.

 "Get some ear plugs!" 2008-01-05
By B. Saylor (Portland, OR USA)
I must have been distracted and missed the reviews on this. I would never have bought it if I had read them.

But I did buy it, I just received it and plugged it in. It is SO LOUD THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A HAIR DRYER RUNNING IN THE ROOM. How can this little thing be so loud?

Well, from the reviews I guess this wont be a problem for long as it shouldnt last.

"Do not buy from this company" 2007-12-20
By A consumer
Do not buy from this company. I bought this product and my order apparently got duplicated. I called the cs# when I found this out (I received two separate shipments) and told the woman about it. She said that she would send a return label, which took forever to receive. I also got an email saying that the order had been duplicated. I sent the duplicate back and then received a REPLACEMENT in the mail, never got a refund for the duplicate charge. I sent an email to the cs because I was not willing to spend my own money to talk to another person who could not speak English well when they were the ones that screwed up in the first place. I have never heard back from this company and am reporting them to the BBB. Horrible customer service and the product doesn't work very well anyway!!!!!!!!

"Died in about 2 weeks!" 2007-10-11
By Rodrigo Faustini (Vitória, ES - Brazil)
My unit simply stopped working in about 2 weeks (both the fan and the blue light, at the same time). Now it just emits a very low random, static noise when I plug it into the outlet.

Regarding its purpose, I didn't (or was not able to) realize any difference in my environment while it was working...

"Good Filter - Bad Customer Service" 2009-03-03
By Boos mom (Columbus, Ga USA)
I have owned this filter for almost a year. Even though it SAYS the filters never need replacing, they DO! After use any HEPA filter that cannot be washed will need to be replaced after particulate matter is drawn deeper and deeper into the existing filters, that being said, as a filter I have loved the effectiveness. Now on to customer service.....

Seeing that the filters are now in need of replacing, I searched high and low for a replacement. Finally emailed their customer service on the manufacturer's page. I was informed that even though they sell the purifiers on the open market, the only way to get the replacement filter was thru them. OK doable. The problem is this: The unit needs TWO filters to replace the existing ones, they are not sold in sets of two. Moreover, the shipping costs as much as the filters if not more, they also do not bundle the shipping on the two filters even though the item REQUIRES two filters. After paying 13.00 EACH for shipping of these filters, you would think that shipping time would be reasonable. Be prepared to wait nearly a MONTH or 15 BUSINESS days. GMAB. Regular mail takes no more than three days to arrive ANYWHERE in the continental US. Are these being shipped directly from India? There is no tracking info provided so you wait a month and keep your fingers crossed that your product arrives.

Had I not paid so much for the unit in the first place, it would now be filling my local landfill in exchange for something more consumer friendly. By next year, it may be.

****Update after a month I contacted the company about the mysterious filters only to be told that they were on BACKORDER. Now where is that landfill. Hopefully the Sharp FPP60CX that I ordered will make this purifier obsolete. Too bad.... really good system just really poor customer service.

"Imagine it - an air filter unit that actually filters air" 2008-12-02
By Brian Long (Ogden, UT USA)
This setup is by far the best I've come across so far. So many units claim to be 1) effective and 2) quiet while operating. As I'm typing this, the sound my clicking keys is by far louder than the unit operating at medium power.

The filter works best to my knowledge on dust and dander. You can clean it with a vacuum or a dust buster, and cleaning takes all of 30 seconds, and requires no replacement. It includes a UV lamp that can be turned on and off, but unless you live in an area with high concentrations of mold or bacteria, I can't see it being of much use. The bulb can burn out, but I haven't a handle on how long they last.

Good for medium sized rooms, this is by far the best buy for the money I've found out of the 4-5 filters I've tried thus far.

"Owned for a short time so far." 2008-07-21
By S. Mickelson (Missoula, MT USA)
We have only owned this item for 2 days, but have noticed a few things about the product.

-The filter is cleanable and will not need regular replacements. - A Big Plus since filters for comparable units are between $70-125.

-The fan blow is fairly noisy at Med-High to High speeds, but to achieve the CADR rating of 180, it needs to move a lot of air.

-The lights are very bright on the front of the unit, but could easily be covered up with black tape if used in a bedroom. It is not necessary to see the lights after you've used the product for a short period of time.

-This unit has the features of very expensive units costing $300-500. UV, HEPA, and Ion Generator are great features. Hopefully they are effective on this paticular unit.

I am still going to see if I actually notice the results of this unit, before deciding to keep it.

 "I am a very picky consumer" 2008-07-21
By E M
I bought this unit hours ago from Costco and I have to say Im happy with the purchase . It seems to be cleaning my room effeciently.

The good ;

1. Very silent when set on the lowest speed .

2. Stylish

3. The price at costco was amazingly seductive .

The bad ( for IM a picky man );

1. the unit has a hummmmmmm.... sound even when its on its lowest setting .

The bottom line ;

A very good poduct that was well made .

I personally ;

REcommend it .

 "Hepa filter unit" 2008-05-28
By Cathy Gilman (Fairfield, CA USA)
Good unit, fan is fairly noisy on any speed past low. On the lowest setting, the fan can barely be heard. Seemed to work well at clearing out the room of all the things activating my allergies. The best feature is the timer, it can be set up to twelve hours. I set it at night for 8 hours, keeps me from forgetting to turn it off before leaving for work.

 "Helps, but smells" 2008-02-26
By Michael P. Adams (Orlando, FL)
It does appear to have a positive impact on air quality, but since it does use a mild amount of ozone, people in the house have complained about odor when they walk past it.

"Not a toy - does some serious air cleaning" 2008-01-31
By Crane Lopes (Washington, D.C.)
We've had the biozone 2000 for a couple of days, and it is a completely different animal than the two Whispure HEPA air purifiers in our home. It does not filter that air, but rather it appears to fundamentally affect its composition. As soon as you turn it on (it's runs almost totally silent), your nose will pick up a faint smell of ozone. And VERY fresh air coming from the vents. It's a powerful little machine: we put it in the room where the litterbox for our cats are, and it wiped out all smell in about 15 minutes. Even on its lowest speed, you can feel its effect all over our 1500 sq ft. house. The only downside is that it does leave a faint ozone trace in the air, and at high speeds a metallic odor. So, we run it on its lowest speed. But I highly recommend the biozone - it's no toy, but a serious air cleaner. Great for a pet room or any other space that has odor. But don't buy one that is too large - it can far exceed your needs. If you have 500 sq feet of need, buy the Biozone 500, not the 1000 or 2000. Our unit may be overkill for our house. But boy, does it work!

 "Great Air Pruifer" 2009-09-10
By Larry D. Jackson (Aurora, IL)
This air purifer is really good. Once you turn it on in about 2 to 3 minutes, you experience the smooth clean air. And, with the ionizer, the air is cleaned good. I have a dog and a cat and also have allergies and this unit makes a big difference in the air in the house. Also, compare the price of this unit to other ionic air purifers, and the Surround Air XJ-2100 stands out from the other. This is an excellent product.

The only bad mark this product has is the two little plastic parts that is attached to the purifer part you take out to clean. Sometimes the two small plastic parts are not secure on the purifier part you pull out to clean. I had one a few years ago and now I have two in the home, and on one, the plastic parts are barely staying attached like my first one.

"Worked well until it died" 2008-02-10
By Brian Sohmers (San Jose)
I purchased this product and it worked well and was very quite, for about 3 months before it completely died - just stopped working, no fan, no lights, nothing worked one day.

 "Powerful yet compact ionizer" 2006-04-24
By Adrian S. (Redmond, WA USA)
This item is compact, yet powerful enough and requires minimal cleaning. There are no filters to replace, so once you buy you only pay some pennies on electricity. It also produces small amounts of ozone, which is an excellent odor remover. Unfortunately, the ozone isn't optional, and too much of it isn't healthy.

It has a "high" and "low" state, and a fan which could be turned off.

What I like about it is that it can be placed anywhere in the house, since it's small. Compare that to the Ionic Breeze Quadra ionic towers, which need a lot of space.

As a bonus, you can connect it to the car - even leave it overnight (but you would have to open the windows in the morning to let the ozone out). In my opinion, it is too big for a car - but I have a small compact car, not a SUV. It can be used to remove odors from cars (or rooms), since the ozone does that.

What I wished were differently - as I've written - is the ozone output to be made optional.

Overall, this is a worthy investment, I heard about people ordering a buch of them - five or so (one for each room) - it is cheaper and healthier than an expensive big home unit.

This is the only air purifier that combines the top six technologies into one unit: true HEPA filter for dust and allergens, germicidal UV Lamp to destroy micro-organisms, activated carbon filter for chemicals, smoke, odors, ionizer for particles and bacteria, programmable sanitizer for odors, and anti-bacterial pre-filter for larger particles. Tests show that true HEPA filters (recommended by the Dept. of Homeland Security) are more effective than any other type of air filter at capturing dust, pollen, ragweed, dust mites, mold spores and other allergens. The germicidal UV light air purification, which destroys micro-organisms, is recommended by the U.S. Centers of Disease Control (CDC). Furthermore, according to Penn State Dept. of Aerobiological researchers, carbon filters serve to remove odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and chemicals that other filters cannot. The Multi-Tech has multiple technologies for pollutants such as cigarette smoke and other odors, including the activated carbon filter, ionizer and programmable sanitizer. The Multi-tech seeks and destroys pollutants across the room with its negative ion air purification system. The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture found negative ion air purification (ionizers) to be 99% effective at removing airborne dust and particles. Under normal circumstances, Multi-Tech replacement costs will run just $25 to $50 per year (for replacement filters and UV lamp each year). Use of the Multi-Tech will only add a few dollars or so per month to your power bill. Its powerful fan increases air-cleaning efficiency by effectively moving the air. Even with the fan setting on high, the Multi-Tech is very quiet. The Multi-Tech air purifier has been awarded ETL safety certification and is maintenance free.

"Great value for the money" 2009-05-09
By Book Worm (Fremont, CA)
Great value for the money, this unit is nice and compact. For the amount of square footage that it covers, this air purifier takes up very little space compared to what's out there in the market. It also comes w/ an option for UV light and ionizer that you can choose to turn on/off.

"Best value 5+ years running strong 24x7" 2009-02-22
By M. Zurat (Washington, DC)
This is an amazing deal I've had $5K air filters that performed similar to this filter. When I bought my first XJ- 30000 5 years ago they were going for 500 to 300 dollars I imagine the technology or scale has made them less expensive to make. Don't be fooled by those expensive air filters from evergreen or direct sales companies the mark up on them is 200x. Although this unit is not made in the USA what electronic gadget is these days? Highly recommend to eliminate mold and mildew from basements and in high humidity climates.

"Glen Beck at his moronic best" 2009-08-04
By S-F TV addict (Houston TX)
Full of his usual fantasies and hyperbole, creating problems out of nothing and moving the walnut shells around to hide any point worth making. If you love looney conspiracies and hate taking the time to learn anything about what's going on, you'll like this. If you actually have any common sense, you'll laugh yourself sick except for having wasted $7 on Beck's sucker fleecing dudgeon. Give it and him a miss, and you won't have to "scream at the TV" so much!

 "Worth the read" 2009-08-03
By Tim Hendrickson
For individuals who make it a habit of keeping up on current events, you may not learn much from this book; however, it is still worth the read. Glenn has an excellent "user friendly" writing style that makes the pages fly by. The inclusion of Thomas Paine's writings is a nice bonus and I definitely recommend this book for anyone who feels we have begun to drift from the vision our of Founding Fathers. I did find it motivating and have purchased several copies for friends and family. Further, the compilation of suggested reading has been an excellent resource.

 "Insightful" 2009-08-03
By Alden Gregory (Cambridge, MA United States)
Finally, someone approaches politics with a level head. Glenn Beck offers poignant perspectives on the increasing size of our government.

 "Required Reading" 2009-08-03
By L. A. Good (NJ, USA)
Anyone who cares about this country should read this book. It should be required reading in schools, it might counteract some of the propaganda being taught!! The book is very non-partisan and I suggest that you take Glen Beck's advice, read it and pass it on. I actually bought two, and then we passed one on. We are book junkies that are running out of shelf space :-)

"Common Sense is a concrete winner" 2009-08-03

If you want to, you will become more accutely aware of how our GREAT REPUBLIC was built and how it is presently being taken down brick by brick. This is the most important and interesting book I have read of late and I am now fully involved in the 5000 Year Leap.

 "paranoia" 2009-08-03
By LGREGORY (EUCLID, OHIO United States)
First time I read any of his books. Fast paced book that held my interest. The ending was very unexpected. I will consider reading other of his novels.

"No Cherry on the Sundae??" 2009-08-02
By Dchriss1 (Winston-Salem NC)
Paranoia had all the elemets to be a classic suspense novel--interesting characters, a believable plot, even a believable love interest. Just when it was getting real interesting with a seemingly inescapable end game, our hero was had. It was as if the writer ran out of energy. Surely a plot line could have continued with a more death or law defying ending, a bigger more complicated double cross on Wyatt. Instead it ended with a HUH?. With a better ending Adam could have been a continued Hero left to fight and get into more scrapes again elsewhere. The world needs more Robin Hoods.

 "Frustration overides Fascination" 2009-08-02
By Evelyn Vaughn
I "read" the audio version of this book and, until the last chapter, would have given it a 5-star rating. Adam is an interesting narrator with a great voice, flawed and yet touchingly hopeful, and in one hell of a fix. The story's short chapters (of which there are almost a hundred) and multiple twists and cliff-hangers make from great suspense and, frankly, I enjoyed reading a thriller that doesn't depend on killers or kidnappers to bring the suspense! But then I got to the end of the book and found myself immensely frustrated, especially after so many hours listening to get there. It just... stops. I felt certain that the audio version had left out a page, a paragraph, even a LINE to clarify the end, but double-checked the print copy and, yeah, that's how it ends. I'd been hoping I'd found a writer I could really enjoy, but to me a good read is like an investment, and this one didn't pay off. So much for Finder. Those of you with a higher tolerance for the indeterminate, however, may very much enjoy Paranoia.

 "Fun and exciting!" 2009-08-01
By jei (Tx Hill Country)
I read this while on vacation, and sent a review on my Kindle - I thought. Didn't appear here! Anyway, I loved the book - it was an easy read and kept me interested. Others here thought it was poorly written. Not so! It was written through the eyes of a 27 yr old slacker, and it wouldn't have been as interesting had he been portrayed in Shakespearean verse. Tech-iness, business, and brand name-ism made it a lot of fun and I hope to see a movie called PARANOIA soon!

"An Inspiration to Aspiring Authors" 2009-08-01
By Billy Radcliffe
This story goes from one implausible event to another, leading the remarkably unsympathetic protagonist in a juvenile and predictable rags-to-riches/zero-to-hero story. Along the way the reader is brought in to a world of supposedly high-tech corporate culture about which the author apparently has even more ignorance than he has contempt. The characters are shallow, the plot is unengaging, and the first-person narrative makes reading it like living inside the head of a very dull person.

If drivel like this can get published and so well reviewed, it should give confidence to every aspiring writer out there, no matter how bad.
