I am a soldier currently serving in Iraq. We get frequent sand and dust storms, and when the dirt starts kicking up, everything gets dirty. I purchased one of these for my room and i could tell the difference in air quality as soon as the next day. This last dust storm we had, i did not even know we were having until I actually opened my door. This product is amazing and i am sorry i did not discover this sooner.
My only complaint is that after you clean it, It is a little loud for a couple of days. Its not an overpowering sound, just static.

I HAVE AN IONIC BREEZE QUADRA COMPACT THAT I REALLY LIKE. WAY BETTER CLEANER THAN ORECK. MAYBE IF YOU LEFT ORECK ON HIGH SETTING ALL THE TIME, IT WOULD CLEAN BETTER. BUT THE NOISE FROM ORECK IS LOUD, EVEN ON THEIR QUIET SETTING.
BUT, I WOULD NEVER PUT AN IONIC AIR CLEANER CLOSE TO A WALL. BOUGHT ABOUT 6 OF THESE FOR LAUNDRY, 3 BATHROOMS, AND 2 HALLWAYS. EVENTUALLY THE DIRT THEY ATTRACT STAINS THE WALLS. FORGET ABOUT CLEANING THE MESS, YOU HAVE TO REPAINT.
I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY THESE IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THESE ON A PAINTED WALL. I DID KEEP ONE FOR MY MASTER BEDROOM. ONLY BECAUSE THE RECEPTACLE ON THE WALL HAS A MIRROR AS A BACKGROUND. MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN.

I basically used it instead of a Quadra to clean up household dust, cat litter dust, odors, and smoke from a couple smokers. (The blades got coated in tan gunk from pipe smoke that I'm glad didn't end up in my lungs.) I moved it from room to room. It worked great for about a year and a half before the poor thing just gave out. The light worked, but it stopped producing a "breeze." Since then, everything in the house has become coated in a layer of dust, and I frequently have bouts of sneezing in the morning. Time to get a new one.

Been using one for last 3 years. Abselutely no safety problems. Good, efficient air purifier. plus, bathroom cleaner actually does work. No need to throw it away.

I recently purchased 2 ionic breeze quadra's which came with this product for free. I had them for 1 week and returned them all, but they let me keep this thing (which i threw away after leaving the sharper image store). I was sucked in by the fancy TV commercials and hype, but don't let it happen to you. Not only has this product been tested and proven to be useless as an air purifier. It releases ozone into the air (which the manual describes as a clean mountain air smell), though it claims to be a "safe" amount of this toxic gas that it produces. some consumer reports show that in certain cases it releases more than they indicate even when used as directed.
To sum it up, it doesn't clean air and releases toxic gas. but don't take my word for it, look up some consumer reports on google.
